Why manufacturers need a specialized marketing agency
A general agency optimizes what works in consumer marketing: traffic, lead volume, cost per click. In industrial B2B those numbers often mislead. A site can double its visitors without a single new account, while one application page with forty searches a month brings a contract worth a year of revenue.
The buyer is a group, led by engineers
According to Gartner, B2B buying groups range from 5 to 16 people. In industrial purchases the engineer or specifier checks specifications, tolerances, materials and certifications; procurement compares lead times, terms and reliability; the economic buyer looks at ROI and risk. They search with different words and read different pages, so campaigns and content have to answer each of them.
Small markets and low search volumes are normal
A manufacturer may have a few hundred potential customers worldwide, and the most valuable queries may show dozens of searches a month. Agencies used to volume dismiss them. We build around them: a narrow set of high-intent product and application queries first, then the long tail, where the right page often does not exist yet on competitors’ sites.
RFQs, specifications and long cycles
Buyers download datasheets and CAD files, compare suppliers, go quiet for weeks and come back when the project is approved. Remarketing, documentation that can be evaluated without a sales call, and analytics that sees all these touchpoints matter as much as the first click.
The metric is an opportunity, not a lead
A cheap lead that never passes qualification costs more than an expensive one that ends in a contract. From day one we agree with your sales team what counts as a qualified RFQ and optimize ads and content for exactly that.
How we choose channels
There is no universal channel mix for industrial companies. This is how the situation usually defines the starting point:
| Situation |
Where we start |
| Buyers search for your product, component or service |
Google Ads for fast data and first RFQs; SEO for product and application queries; GEO so AI assistants name you on shortlists |
| Narrow market, a few hundred potential accounts |
Bottom-of-funnel SEO, remarketing and technical content for the shortlist stage. Outbound, ABM and trade shows are run by your team, and we bring their results into one report |
| New product that buyers do not yet search for by name |
Content and GEO around the problem the product solves; ads on adjacent queries; demand created by your sales team, events and partners |
| Entering the US or EU market |
Market-specific keyword research and localized pages, plus a test Google Ads campaign to validate demand before investing in content |
| Traffic is there, RFQs are not |
Analytics and landing pages first, and only then more budget |
We review the channel split every quarter: once paid search has shown which queries lead to opportunities, part of the budget moves into SEO for those queries and the cost per RFQ gradually falls.
Measuring ROI: from RFQ to pipeline
A report that shows session growth tells an industrial company almost nothing. So measurement is set up before channels go live:
- GA4 and GTM track RFQs, quote requests, calls, sample requests and datasheet or CAD downloads — micro- and macro-conversions separately.
- CRM connection. Lead statuses from your CRM are sent back to Google Ads as offline conversions, so bidding learns from qualified RFQs and opportunities rather than any submitted form.
- Looker Studio brings channels, RFQs and opportunities into one monthly report.
- Leading indicators. On long cycles we track visibility for target queries, the share of inquiries from target accounts and movement through the pipeline, so a quarter without closed deals is still readable.
We calculate an acceptable cost per lead and per customer from your unit economics before ads launch — the method is described in our article on advertising campaign KPIs. The key metrics — cost per qualified lead, MQL-to-SQL conversion, pipeline contribution and CAC — are explained in our industrial B2B marketing guide.
Entering the US and EU markets
Many of our industrial clients are strong in one market and starting in another. The new market has different competitors, different terminology and different trust signals: US buyers expect to see a named team, an address, customers and reviews on independent platforms.
We do not translate the website — we build a market version with its own keyword research, correct hreflang and content that describes the problem the way that market does. Ads in a new market start as a demand test, so you know which segments respond before investing heavily in content. More on this on our English-language SEO page.

How to get started
Send us your website and the markets you sell to. After a short call about your goals, products and sales cycle, we will send a proposal with the scope of work, the budget and the metrics you can judge us by.
We do not quote RFQ or lead numbers before we have seen your website and data. An agency that names a figure up front is guessing — and in industrial B2B that guess is usually wrong by a wide margin.
FAQ
Why do manufacturers need a specialized marketing agency?
Because industrial buying works differently: small markets, low search volumes, engineers as the first audience, RFQs instead of checkouts and cycles that take months. A specialized agency builds content and campaigns for specifiers and procurement, and measures qualified RFQs and pipeline instead of traffic.
What does an industrial marketing agency actually do?
It defines who your buyers are and how they find suppliers, then runs the channels that reach them: SEO for product and application queries, Google Ads for existing demand, GEO for AI search, technical content and RFQ-focused landing pages, plus analytics that connects marketing to opportunities in your CRM.
How do you measure ROI for manufacturing marketing?
By cost per qualified lead, MQL-to-SQL conversion, pipeline generated and customer acquisition cost (CAC), tracked from the first touch to the opportunity in your CRM. Traffic and rankings are supporting metrics. Target values are agreed after the audit, once we have seen the site, the data and your unit economics.
How long does it take to see results?
Google Ads usually brings the first inquiries within the first weeks after launch. SEO shows first movement after a few months, and a stable effect typically takes 6–12 months or longer. Because industrial cycles are long, the first contracts may come much later than the first RFQs. Specific targets are set after the audit.
How much does industrial marketing cost?
An integrated plan (SEO, Google Ads and analytics) starts at $1,500 per month for the team’s work. B2B SEO for English-language markets starts at $1,200 per month, Google Ads management at $550 per month plus a one-off setup from $600, and GEO at $900 per month. Ad spend is paid separately, directly to Google. The final scope is fixed in a proposal after a short call.
Do you work with companies outside the US?
Yes. Our team is based in Ukraine and works with manufacturers and B2B companies in the US, the EU, Canada and Israel — including a food truck manufacturer in the US, freight transportation in Israel and packaging decoration in the Czech Republic.
